A very uncomfortable topic but getting more and more important in the current days.
My personal encounter was very short and was not only the anxiety, but also depression and at the time i was not in a good shape.

Currently i really want to understand why its happens and how to help someone with anxiety attacks. I think like depression the best you can do to help is not direct to medication or someone else is to listen and help the person understand what is causing it.

A short summary what it is from Wikipedia( reference ). In some random places they describe it as feeling of hopelessness because you try to understand and handle a world of problems that are way out of your reach.

One huge modern trigger that i found is the news and world events. The panic hits when you see for example natural disasters, wars, political conflicts, global warming etc.

In addition to the flood of information, someone very close to me has panic attacks when they overeat and the posibility of puking triggers an additional spiral of doom emotions.

As for my part in that times i have seen it helps to talk and poke to describe how they are feeling, what caused the panic attack. At random times to tell them that this and that is good, that we have specific beautiful things as persons, pets, places and experiences.

Like depression this is hard to "cure" its a ongoing process and to help is mostly to be there for people and listen to them.

I will continue to dig into that topic more in later posts.
